Lady Gaga has officially joined the cast of Wednesday, the popular Netflix series directed by Tim Burton. The show, inspired by the character Wednesday Addams from The Addams Family, is currently filming its second season in Ireland.
While details about Gaga’s role remain under wraps, the Joker: Folie à Deux star is set to appear alongside Jenna Ortega, who plays Wednesday Addams. Gaga’s connection to the series began when a dance scene in season one featured her song “Bloody Mary,” sparking a viral trend on social media.
Returning Favourites and New Cast Members
Jenna Ortega will reprise her role as the titular Wednesday, joined once again by Emma Myers as her upbeat roommate Enid Sinclair and Catherine Zeta-Jones as the iconic Morticia Addams.
In addition to Gaga, the new season brings a star-studded cast. Christopher Lloyd, who played Uncle Fester in The Addams Family films, will make his return. New faces joining the show include Scoop’s Billie Piper, Fool Me Once’s Joanna Lumley, Boardwalk Empire’s Steve Buscemi, and Westworld’s Thandiwe Newton.
Other notable actors confirmed for season two are Heather Matarazzo (Scream), Joonas Suotamo (Star Wars), Haley Joel Osment (The Kominsky Method), Noah Taylor (Law & Order), Evie Templeton (Return to Silent Hill), and Owen Painter (The Handmaid’s Tale).
With a dynamic blend of returning favourites and exciting new talent, Wednesday season two is set to thrill fans once more. The series streams exclusively on Netflix, and production for the new season is currently underway.
