Zootopia 2 is on its way and we have all the information you need to know about the sequel.
Zootopia 2
Zootopia 2 was officially announced by Disney CEO Bob Iger.
‘There are three dates on the studio’s release calendar fans should circle as perfect candidates for the animated sequel,’ reports The Direct.
Potential release dates
The three days in question are Wednesday, November 27, 2024, Wednesday, November 26, 2025, and Wednesday, November 25, 2026.
Jason Bateman as Nick Wilde and Ginnifer Goodwin as Officer Judy Hopps would be likely to return in the upcoming sequel.
The pair also appeared in the Zootopia spin-off series, Zootopia+ so if the timing (and money) was right it would probably happen.
“According to several sources, Disney recently conducted a test screening for Zootopia 2 and things went better than ever!,’ reports Disney Fanatic.
As ever, take these claims with a pinch of salt.
As you can see some people CAN’T wait!
Zootopia – spoilers alert
Zootopia is a 2016 animated film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures.
The film is directed by Byron Howard and Rich Moore and features a diverse cast of voice actors.
Zootopia is set in a modern city inhabited by anthropomorphic animals and follows the story of a rookie bunny police officer named Judy Hopps and a slick con artist fox named Nick Wilde.
Plot
The plot of Zootopia revolves around Judy Hopps (voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin), who becomes the first rabbit to join the Zootopia Police Department. She is determined to prove herself as a capable officer but faces challenges and stereotypes in a city where larger and more traditionally predatory animals often hold positions of authority. She teams up with Nick Wilde (voiced by Jason Bateman), a small-time hustler, to solve a missing mammals case. Together, they uncover a conspiracy that threatens to disrupt the harmony of Zootopia.
Zootopia received critical acclaim for its animation, story, and its exploration of themes such as bias, prejudice, and discrimination. It won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature in 2017 and was praised for its timely social commentary and message of inclusivity.
The film’s success also led to the creation of various spin-off materials, including merchandise and theme park attractions.
