MMA fighter Conor McGregor recently paid Donald Trump a visit.
McGregor, who was last year found liable for sexual assault after a civil trial, suggested Ireland was on the ‘cusp of losing its Irishness’ in comments later denounced by Taoiseach Micheál Martin.
A gardaí spokesperson said: “It is, however, a statement of fact that according to the Global Peace Index, Ireland is ranked second only to Iceland.”
“Furthermore, Ireland ranks as the thirteenth most safe country in the world under the specific category of ‘Societal Safety and Security.’
Sinister
Rachel Morrogh, the chief executive of the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre, has written to the US embassy in the Irish capital raising concerns about the meeting, which took place on Monday, Saint Patrick’s Day.
She said: “We do believe that the meeting between Trump and Conor McGregor was really very sinister and we have called it out for what it is, which is … an attempt to rebuild the very damaged reputation of Conor McGregor.
“I think what has really shocked us is that the office of the president of the United States, which is so respected and so revered, is being used to launder Conor McGregor’s reputation.”
Andrew Tate
If that wasn’t enough, Andrew Tate then added himself into the mix. He is also accused of sexual offenses, which he denies.
He wrote: “Connor runs Ireland. I will run the UK with @votebruv. Trump runs USA
“Save civilization.”
