Brexiter’s moan about London
Dr Philip Kiszely tweeted: “Always strikes me when in London: as a middle-aged white able-bodied male who was Brexit-voting and is small ‘c’ conservative, I’m excluded from the day-to-day culture advertised on the Underground. Not only am I not represented, I’m expunged. Odd in my own capital city.”

Surge
London’s tourist economy is “roaring back” to life this summer as a new analysis reveals a surge in post-pandemic visitor numbers.
Two million more international visitors are forecast to arrive in London in 2023, compared with last year, which is projected to produce an extra £674 million in revenue.
Mayor of London Sadiq Khan said: “Our capital is roaring back with tourists from around the world joining Londoners in enjoying all of the fantastic attractions on offer.
“Culture is at the heart of our city, and I’m delighted that our world-renowned theatres, venues, galleries and museums are helping to drive our recovery.”
Brexit climbdown
The UK will retain the EU’s product safety mark indefinitely, in the latest climbdown from proposed post-Brexit changes, after the government bowed to pressure from industry and manufacturers, reports The Guardian.
Stephen Phipson, the chief executive of Make UK said: ““This announcement will help safeguard the competitiveness of manufacturers and aid the UK as a destination for investment. It should bring more confidence about doing business in the UK and recognises the need to work with the reality of doing business.”
