A cheeky Irish restaurant had some fun with Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary, slapping ‘extra legroom’ and ‘priority seating’ fees onto his bill.
🍽️ The Ultimate Budget Airline Experience – at Dinner
When Michael O’Leary dined at Luvida in Navan, Co Meath, the restaurant couldn’t resist a playful dig at his airline’s infamous extra charges.
In a now-viral Facebook post, they thanked him for his visit but cheekily added a few ‘extras’ to his bill:
🔹 €7.95 for “extra leg space”
🔹 €9.95 for “priority booth seating”
🔹 €19.95 for a “quiet reservation area”
The final total? €142.30 (£120) – but don’t worry, they let him off the joke charges (this time).
📸 O’Leary Takes It in Good Humour
Alongside the post, the restaurant shared a photo of O’Leary grinning next to a staff member, proving he saw the funny side.
Restaurant manager Marika Chocianwoicz later confirmed he wasn’t actually charged but warned:
“I have those buttons on the till now, so next time he’s getting charged!”
And, in true Irish hospitality, O’Leary reportedly left a generous tip.
💬 Social Media Applauds the Banter
Facebook users loved the stunt, with comments like:
💬 “Hope he was charged for any extras on his plate.”
💬 “Brilliant! Should’ve added a fee for the mint sweets too.”
Given Ryanair’s notorious add-on charges for seats, baggage, and even printing boarding passes, some might say turnabout is fair play.
