James Cameron has slammed the needless deaths in the submersible heading to view the Titanic.

The Titanic director told ABC news about the tragic loss of life of the submariners looking at the wreck of the most famous ship in the world.

ABC News shared the clip and wrote: “‘Titanic’ director James Cameron on the ‘catastrophic implosion’ of Titan submersible: “I’m struck by the similarity of the Titanic disaster itself, where the captain was repeatedly warned about ice ahead of his ship and yet he steamed at full speed into an ice field.”

Cut corners – James Cameron submarine

Cameron has told the BBC the team who built the submersible which imploded with the loss of five lives had “cut corners”.

OceanGate, the parent company of the Titan sub, “didn’t get certified because they knew they wouldn’t pass”.

“I was very suspect of the technology that they were using. I wouldn’t have gotten in that sub,” he told the BBC.

Cameron said that when he learned the sub had lost both its navigation and communication at the same time he immediately suspected a disaster.

“I felt in my bones what had happened. For the sub’s electronics to fail and its communication system to fail, and its tracking transponder to fail simultaneously – sub’s gone.”

Cameron has completed 33 submersible dives to the Titanic wreck.

Terminator 7

Perhaps with all that is going on it would be a bit churlish to discuss upcoming movies, but, sadly, the show must go on.

He changed cinema forever when he dropped The Terminator in 1984.

Back in May James Cameron told the Dell Tech World crows that he has already started writing a new Terminator movie.

However, the delay in making the film is due to the emergence of new AI technology, that might revolutionise the filming process.

So James Cameron just told the #DellTechWorld crowd that he started writing a new Terminator movie 3 months ago but wants to see how #AI shakes out before he goes any further 👀😳🎥 pic.twitter.com/wNqmLNmyVP

As Screen Rant wrote: “The original two movies stand among the greatest science fiction films in history, with next-level action, tight scripts and an unmistakable tech-noir vibe earning critical acclaim. The original sequel, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, is widely regarded as one of the greatest sequels of all time.”
