Laurence Fox, the former actor turned far-right commentator, has been charged with a sexual offence after allegedly sharing an upskirting image of TV personality Narinder Kaur.
The three-time failed election candidate, once best known for starring in ITV’s Lewis, allegedly posted the explicit image on X (formerly Twitter) in April last year. At the time, he had around 400,000 followers.
The image, taken in 2009 without Kaur’s knowledge, shows her getting out of a taxi. Fox reportedly shared it during an online row over politics. He later deleted the post.
What Is He Charged With?
Fox, 46, has been charged under Section 66A of the Sexual Offences Act 2003, which criminalises the sharing of explicit images intended to cause alarm, distress, humiliation, or for sexual gratification. This is commonly referred to as ‘cyberflashing’.
The offence, introduced in the Online Safety Act 2023, carries a maximum sentence of two years in prison.
The Met Police confirmed the charge, saying Fox will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 24 April.
Narinder Kaur: ‘Unimaginably Mortifying’
Kaur, 52, is a regular panelist on Good Morning Britain, Jeremy Vine, and Loose Women. She first found fame on Big Brother in 2001.
After Fox’s post, she described the experience as “unimaginably mortifying”.
Fox later addressed the post, offering an apology—before adding that it “wasn’t [his] fault” the image existed.
From Acting to Right-Wing Rants
Fox’s career took a sharp turn after his 2020 Question Time appearance, where he claimed it was racist to call him a “white privileged male” during a discussion on Meghan Markle.
His comments saw him dropped by his talent agency, and he reinvented himself as a full-time critic of ‘woke’ culture, vaccines, and political correctness.
His posts have since included:
- Spreading COVID-19 conspiracy theories
- Losing a £180,000 libel case after falsely accusing two individuals of being paedophiles
- Founding the Reclaim Party, which briefly had an MP, Andrew Bridgen, before he quit
He also stood for election three times, failing so badly that he lost his deposit every time. His fourth attempt in 2024 didn’t even get off the ground—he filled in the nomination forms incorrectly.
GB News Sacking and Ava Evans Controversy
Fox briefly had a Friday night show on GB News, but was suspended and later sacked after making misogynistic comments about political journalist Ava Evans.
During a panel discussion, he said:
“Show me a single, self-respecting man that would like to climb into bed with that woman… ever? Who’d want to s** that?”*
Evans later said the remarks made her feel “physically sick”, while Fox insisted he “stood by every word”.
Ofcom ruled that the comments broke broadcasting rules, and GB News dropped him.
Billie Piper: ‘Divorce Speaks for Itself’
Fox was previously married to actress Billie Piper, with whom he has two children. The pair split after nine years.
Piper spoke publicly about the divorce last year, simply stating:
“Divorce speaks for itself.”
Fox Reacts to Charges – Before Quitting Social Media (Again)
Earlier this month, Fox vowed to quit social media for three months, uninstalling the app from his phone.
He posted:
“As promised, app removed after this final tweet. See you in 3 months… very excited to not know what’s going on during that period.”
However, just hours after news of his charge broke, he was back—this time posting a video from his car.
In it, he called the allegations “untrue, ridiculous, vexatious and malicious nonsense”, claiming he was a victim of Britain’s “two-tier justice system”.
