The new Chancellor Jeremy Hunt acknowledged in an interview with the BBC that the country is going through a “particularly challenging” time with every government department being instructed to find spending reductions and tax increases.
Just two days after Kwasi Kwarteng was fired, Jeremy Hunt assumed over and has already proposed a completely different financial strategy.
Since Liz Truss, the prime minister, was compelled to make a climbdown, he is now regarded as the most significant figure in the government, according to some who believe the balance of power in Downing Street has changed.
Despite the abandonment of her signature principles, Mr. Hunt asserted that Ms. Truss is still “in command” and that voters may still have faith in her.
Jeremy Hunt said they were “compassionate Conservatives,” which really got to lawyer Peter Stefanovic, who expressed his sentiments in his most recent Twitter video.
