As we know Nicola Sturgeon has stepped down from her role at the SNP.
Sturgeon said she was clear “in my head and in my heart” that this was the right time to go.
She said she :”was drained by the unrelenting and unforgiving pressures of modern politics, with a 24-hour news cycle, the intensity of social media and modern politics’ focus on personality. It was impossible to live a normal life, to go for a walk or meet friends for afternoon tea.”
Kwarteng
Did Sturgeon make mistakes? Of course. But she lead her party for a number of years.
So it seems churlish (to say the least) that Kwasi Kwarteng to give her advice on why she lost the job.
He didn’t hold back on slamming Nicola Sturgeon’s ‘woke agenda’ during his first interview since getting sacked.
The former chancellor appeared very bitter as he appeared on TalkTV to try and save his reputation.
“Essentially her woke agenda ended up blowing up in her face”, he said, referring to the transgender prison row.
“It was really the straw that broke the camel’s back – her ratings plunged.”
Kwasi Kwarteng claims the “general direction” of his economy-crashing mini-budget had been “right”, but admitted he does hold regrets about his brief time as chancellor…he lasted 38 days!
Here he is in a huff:
