The violins were not out for Nadine Dorries today. Nadine Dorries Lords appointment has been blocked and she is not happy, not happy at all.
Nadine Dorries suggested “sinister forces” were behind the decision not to include her on Boris Johnson’s controversial resignation honours list.
The ex culture secretary wrote a brutal column in the Daily Mail suggesting she was deliberately blocked from receiving a peerage in the House of Lords by “posh boys” working for PM Rishi Sunak.
Nadine Dorries Lords
Nads was one of three Boris Johnson allies who thought a peerage was in the bag from the outgoing prime minister.
However, when the list landed their names were nowhere to be seen.
In response, she stood down as an MP with ‘immediate effect.’
A by-election now looms in Mid Bedforshire.

She said: ‘This story is about a girl from Breck Road in Liverpool, who worked every day of her life since she was 14 years old, had something offered to her – that people from that background don’t get offered – removed by two privileged posh boys.’
Boris Johnson
Then Boris Johnson decided to jump ship as he found out he was going to be found guilty of his actions by the privileged committee investigation.
Mr Johnson has lashed out at what he sees as the “kangaroo court” of the Privileges Committee.
The committee’s report – due on Wednesday – is sufficiently devastating to the former prime minister’s reputation that he walked away from Parliament before, he anticipated, MPs and voters might force him to, the BBC’s political editor Chris Mason says.
