Piers Morgan interviewed Spain manager Luis Rubiales and he finally resigned after weeks of criticism over kissing Jenni Hermoso at the Women’s World Cup final.
Rubiales is still facing the possibility of a criminal prosecution for sexual assault and coercion over his ‘unsolicited kiss’ on Hermoso.
He tweeted as his decision to resign was made public on Piers Morgan Uncensored: ‘I will defend my honourability. I will defend my innocence.
Piers Morgan Spain manager interview
Morgan shared the video and wrote: “BREAKING: Luis Rubiales has sensationally resigned as President of the Royal Spanish Football Federation following the scandal over him kissing Spain’s Jenni Hermoso at the Women’s World Cup Final. He revealed the news in a world exclusive interview for @PiersUncensored.”
Piers Morgan has described the Luis Rubiales saga as ‘a bizarre situation’
“It’s a bizarre situation where you’ve got a team who win a World Cup and you’ve got a coach who took them there and the president of the football association losing their jobs.
“It’s a strange set of circumstances and I’ve spoken to a lot of people about it, but opinion is quite split over it.”

James Blunt
In other news, James Blunt trolled Morgan.
Piers was on his way to the NTA awards and the poor lad had to get the Tube (the horror!), he wrote: “On my way to the @OfficialNTAs – my first time on the tube for 30+ years. Hasn’t got any cooler has it…”
Morgan’s old Twitter adversary, and king of social media banter, James Blunt had the reply we all wanted to see.
He wrote: “My first time on the tube in 20+ years. Dude behind me is worried that I think he’s beautiful.”
