RM Rishi Sunak’s seven bins policy has been ridiculed.
It seems that this measure and other were never even due to happen!
The prime minister said Wednesday’s speech was the first in a series which would “change the direction of our country”, adding: “I know I’ll get criticism and flak but I’m not going to be deterred.”
Rishi Sunak’s seven bins
Here are the things he claimed were he was rowing back on.
His account wrote: “We will never impose unnecessary and heavy-handed measures on you, the British people. We will still meet our international commitments and hit Net Zero by 2050.”
It turns out they were not even on the cards in the first place!
The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) later said it was “never the case that seven bins would be needed by household”. And Tory MP Sir Simon Clarke, accused the PM of offering up “straw men” which “simply weren’t policy”, reports The Mirror.
And the ridicule began!
