Sound of Freedom has gone under the radar, as Barbie and Oppenheimer has sort of sucked in all film buzz like a black hole.
However, picking up major views is the film Sound of Freedom directed by Alejandro Gómez Monteverde.
Sound of Freedom
The film follows a federal agent who embarks on a dangerous mission to save young children from sex trafficking ring in Colombia.
Box Office
Following its release on July 4, the indie film has raked in over $180 million at the domestic box office.
It will open in UK cinemas on Friday, September 1.
Controversy
The film has been linked with QAnon supporters.
However, director Monteverde has distanced himself from links to QAnon saying: ‘It’s a fact that this film is not based on the QAnon conspiracy.’
The film garnered support from right-wing political figures such as Donald Trump and Steve Bannon.
The former president held a screening of the film in his private club in New Jersey.
Also, Mel Gibson said in a video: ‘One of the most disturbing problems in our world today is human trafficking, and particularly the trafficking of children.
‘Now, the first step in eradicating this crime is awareness… go see Sound of Freedom.’
Here he is…
In the UK the right-leaning Telegraph don’t seem to keen on it giving it a one star review, writing Sound of Freedom’s success proves America is not only a different country – it’s a different planet
“Starring Jim Caviezel as a vigilante busting child traffickers, this bizarrely dull thriller has struck gold in the US. Is it a conspiracy?”
