Twitter Blue, a new subscription service, is now operational in the UK. It offers users of the social media platform the option to purchase a blue verification badge for the first time.
Now that they may sign up and pay for the service, Twitter users on Apple’s iOS will see a blue checkmark next to their user name. In due course, the business promised, the service would be made available to customers on Android and the web version of the app.
It isn’t going smoothly however, with many parody accounts being verified, as the tweets below will show:
