Last week Senior Tory MP Lee Anderson has drawn ire for telling anti-monarchy activists to “emigrate” rather than exercise their right to protest.

Now, today Lee Anderson asked a question that was basically ignored as it was essentially pointless.
Politics Joe shared the video and wrote: “Lee Anderson has managed to ask the head of Republic a question SO DUMB that the chair of the Home Affairs Select Committee has to intervene to move on to more sensible questioning.”

…where they were attending the Home Affairs Committee inquiry into the policing of public protests during the Coronation. The supporters were wearing the same T-shirts they wore on Coronation Day that prompted the police to arrest them for conspiracy to commit a public nuisance.

As the proceedings finished, committee chairwoman Dame Diana Johnson said: “We take very seriously that Parliament should be open to members of the public – that’s very important – but we also take very seriously that we should not be disrupted from our job of scrutinising, particularly what happened in this case.
“I also just want to thank the security and the police officers who acted very quickly to ensure that the session could continue.”
