“We’ve done nothing to take advantage of Brexit.” said the former Brexit Party MEP Ben Habib on Channel 4 news.
He was discussing the economy flatlining in February.
It seems he is another Brexiter who got Brexit done, bur doesn’t like the Brexit he got, aka Brexit.
Britain’s goods exports are lagging all other G7 economies, according to an analysis by the Financial Times, which trade experts said provided more evidence of the impact of Brexit.
Sophie Hale, trade economist at the Resolution Foundation think-tank, described the UK’s performance as “a disaster”.
It comes as the International Monetary Fund (IMF) upgraded its forecast for the UK economy this year and next – but still expects it to grow slower than other Group of Seven (G7) countries.
UK output is expected to contract by 0.3 per cent this year before rebounding to grow by 1 per cent next year, economists working for the body said. It puts the UK firmly at the bottom in the G7 group of advanced economies this year.
Here is the issue, we all knew this, apart from a small fraction of economists and right-wingers.
Dr Mike Galsworthy tweeted: “The vast majority of economists thought #Brexit was a bad idea 7-8 years ago – and have continued to think that all the way through.
“About 5” economists thought otherwise says Prof Blanchflower – and they were all over the media during the referendum.”
