A new video by Peter Stefanovic has slammed the government’s ‘war on working people,’ as he discusses the proposed employment legislation.
Unions have also criticised the new bill as “undemocratic, unworkable and illegal”.
The head of the Trades Union Congress, Paul Nowak, said that if it became law the legislation would “prolong disputes and poison industrial relations – leading to more frequent strikes”.
“This legislation would mean that when workers democratically vote to strike, they can be forced to work and sacked if they don’t comply,” he said.
“That’s undemocratic, unworkable, and almost certainly illegal.”
Day of action
It comes as Trade unions are set to meet to discuss holding a coordinated “day of action” across the public sector.
It is hoped that this move would increase the pressure on the government to agree to a better pay deal, reports The Guardian.
Video
Peter tweeted the video and demanded to know: “When did forcing people to work against their will, allowing them to be sacked if they refuse & robbing them of human rights protections become a “peoples priority” in this country Grant Shapps and Rishi Sunak?”
