NHS Junior doctors have started a four-day strike.
The strike by members of the British Medical Association (BMA) began at 07:00 BST and lasts until Tuesday.
It is the junior doctors’ fifth strike in the pay dispute in England as the government will not meet the needs of the medical staff.
Dr Raymond Effah, one of those striking first-year doctors who has just begun his first placement, told The Guardian: “When I chose medicine as my career, never did I imagine my second week in the job would see me going on strike. The government may not see the value of myself and my doctor colleagues, but we do, leaving us no choice but to strike.

In response, filmmaker Peter Stefanovic created another film and called out the ‘Government’s shameless lies.’
Peter shared the video and wrote: “Ignore the Governments shameless lies about the Junior doctors strike – here are the actual FACTS & this is why I’m standing shoulder to shoulder with them. If like me you stand with our courageous Junior docs RT this widely.”
What to do if you need help?
During the strike, patients are advised to contact NHS 111 or the nearest pharmacy for more minor health concerns, although A&E departments remain open if needed.
