A new Led by Donkeys NHS video with words from Nye Bevan has gone viral as the NHS celebrates its 75th birthday.
Before we get to that, one person who doesn’t seem to be a fan of the NHS is the journalist Melanie Philips.
She appeared on BBC’s Politics Live and said: “The NHS is not fit for purpose.. & a much better system would be a European style social health system.”
In response, Baroness Kennedy said: “This govt has deliberately underfunded the NHS.. & private equity is looking at it with a beady eye wanting to profit from it.”
This tweet might chime with you?
“Is there a more poisonous mind amongst the commentariat than the one that resides in Melanie Phillips’ hate-filled head?”
Sooz Kemoner also wrote: “Jo Coburn being super-salty with Melanie Phillips on #PoliticsLive. It’s good.”
Led by Donkeys NHS video
But let’s move on from Melanie Phillips…the campaign group Led By Donkeys have created an other amazing video about the NHS with a voiceover from the founder of the NHS Nye Bevan.

“The NHS was born through the sacrifices of our “greatest generation” during the war. When the fighting was done, our society decided that their reward would be that they and all of their descendents would never have to worry about having access to quality healthcare ever again.”
