On Question Time last night a show of hands for sending migrants to Rwanda was telling.
It comes as the government is committed to ending cross-Channel migrant boats despite a court ruling its Rwanda policy is unlawful, she said.
Lord Chief Justice Lord Burnett declared “Rwanda is not a safe third country” because of a “real risk that any person sent” to the east African nation “will be removed to their home country when in fact they have a good case to asylum”.
However, Suella Braverman told MPs she would do “whatever it takes to stop the boats.”
Labour responded saying the plan is “unethical” and Suella Braverman is “ramping up rhetoric”.
Yvetee Cooper said: “This is their chaos, their Tory chaos, their boats chaos and their broken asylum system.”
Question Time Rwanda
On BBC’s Question Time Rwanda came up as a major talking point, and presenter Fiona Bruce wanted to see what the audience thinks of it.
Haggis Twitter account shared the video and Braverman’s comments from yesterday and there is a stark difference in what people seem to want.
Suella Braverman – The Rwanda judgment is disappointing for the majority of the British people.
Fiona Bruce – Is there anyone here who support sending people to Rwanda? #bbcqt audience gives a resounding no.
