PMQ’s was its normal mix of theatre and lies.
The Labour leader claimed the prime minister was “clueless about life outside his bubble”.
Keir Starmer did make an almost amusing remark about how out of touch Rishi Sunak is.
He said: “Rishi Sunak is so out of touch that he looks at a petrol pump & a debit card like they’ve just arrived from Mars… “
“He smiles his way through the cost of living crisis while putting other people’s taxes up,” the Labour leader said. “Is it any wonder that he doesn’t have a clue how food prices are hammering families across the country?”
Tax rises
Starmer told the Commons: “It means that at every possible opportunity, he has voted to put taxes on working people up while at the same time taking every possible opportunity to protect a tax avoidance scheme that helps his own finances. Why is the prime minister telling people across the country their taxes must go up so that his can stay low?”
Police numbers
But it was a comment made by the PM about police numbers that has been called out.
Peter shared the video and wrote: “Jeez. At #PMQs the Prime Minister shamelessly gave us everything from 20,000 more police to his Government is supporting working people & reducing poverty! If like me you’ve had enough of this absolute boll**** RT these FACTS”
