There are growing number of Tories who want to pull out of ECHR and it to be at heart of the next election if flights to Rwanda blocked by Strasbourg court.
In reaction filmmaker Peter Stefanovic has created another video slamming the rumours and how dangerous it could be for the UK.
He isn’t the only person saying that. On Jeremy Vine this morning two of the panel members agreed that “Saying we need to get rid of the ECHR is dangerous nonsense.”
Leave ECHR
Peter shared a new video and wrote: “It’s again being reported the Conservatives will campaign to leave the ECHR at the next election if Rwanda flights are blocked Please watch this 2 min video to understand the SHOCKING implications for all of us of that utter insanity.”
Crackdown on lawyers
This story seemingly ties in with the Ministry of Justice and the Home Office announcemt that they have launched a Professional Enablers Taskforce to crackdown on lawyers.
Responding, deputy vice president of the Law Society Richard Atkinson said: “The government, regulators and law enforcement agencies already have the powers they need to deal with immigration advisers engaged in misconduct.
“The overwhelming majority of immigration lawyers continue to support the #RuleOfLaw through their adherence to the law and professional standards set by the Solicitors Regulation Authority
“The focus of the Home Office on a tiny minority of lawyers to which they are apparently applying considerable resources should not deflect from the fact that there remains significant backlogs in asylum claims.
“It should also not deflect from the unworkability of the Illegal Migration Act.”
