Danny Miller, the former winner of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and an actor from Emmerdale, has expressed his anticipation that Nigel Farage will encounter challenging situations if he decides to enter the jungle.
The controversial politician has been photographed arriving in Australia, expressing a possibility of becoming a contestant on the ITV show. Having previously declined numerous invitations since 2016 to venture into the Australian jungle, Farage, the former leader of Ukip and the Brexit Party, seems to be reconsidering.
If Farage does participate, he will be following in the footsteps of former health secretary Matt Hancock, who faced numerous daunting challenges during his stint on the show. Miller, the 2021 show winner when it was filmed in a Welsh castle due to Covid restrictions, shared his thoughts on ITV’s Good Morning Britain, stating, “I’m not the most political person, but I think it’s safe to say that he’s going to ruffle a few feathers, and I think the I’m A Celeb team are very good at getting people in that are going to get the viewers up and, more so, get the votes up.”
Miller continued, “I can imagine he’s probably going to be in a few sticky situations, as Mr Hancock was last year. They (the voting viewers) want to put him through the paces… I don’t think it’s a case of he’s going to win it. I’d probably bet every penny I’ve got against him winning it. They’ll put him through everything and then they’ll drop him, like they did with Matt.”
When asked about whether Farage should discuss politics, Miller suggested, “I’d say just smile and just hope to last as long as you can, because I can’t imagine that people will be as receptive and welcoming to his political views.”
Miller predicted that Farage, known for being a prolific smoker, would struggle without access to cigarettes. He also highlighted that food deprivation is a significant aspect of the challenge, saying, “You are on limited calories, they very cleverly manipulate how many calories you’re getting. so that’s a way of keeping you just on the edge of breaking, as we’ve seen in a few different series.”
Other notable figures rumored to join the ITV jungle show, seen arriving in Australia, include This Morning presenter Josie Gibson and First Dates star Fred Sirieix. In the 2022 series, Hancock secured third place, contributing to it becoming the second most complained-about TV event of the year, according to Ofcom.
