Nigel Farage recently defended Donald Trump while criticising Kamala Harris, creating a situation that some view as contradictory. Farage, the leader of Reform UK, commented on Times Radio that Harris was “desperate” and would likely make “hysterical” attacks against Trump after calling him a “fascist” in a CNN town hall.
Presenter Rosie Wright, however, pointed out Trump’s own frequent insults directed at Harris, questioning Farage on why he didn’t hold Trump to the same standard. Wright cited several of Trump’s remarks over just two days, which included calling Harris “crazy,” “lazy,” “slow,” and questioning her intelligence. Farage replied that “insults” are commonplace in American politics, implying Harris’s comments were typical for a campaign season. He maintained, “I fully expect people to make these statements; it doesn’t really matter.”
The debate took another turn when Farage addressed Trump’s team’s recent accusation that Labour was “interfering” in US politics after activists campaigned for Harris. Farage deemed it a “stupid move” but suggested that Trump might “forgive” Labour leader Keir Starmer, although it could affect relations if not addressed properly.
