Former PM Boris Johnson has been handed a huge amount of cash from a businessman who also funnelled millions of money to Nigel Farage’s Brexit party.
Thai-based Brit Christopher Harborne, gave the Brexit party £6m before the 2019 general election.
However, he has handed a £1m donation to Boris Johnson’s personal office after he left the top job.
Comeback
The donation will increase speculation that he might be planning a comeback.
Also, Mr Johnson’s 7,210 majority in his west London constituency means he is vulnerable to being unseated by Labour.
The Office of Boris Johnson Ltd was established in October last year. The Companies House entry lists the purpose of the company only as “other business support service activities”.
Many former senior politician’s have set up similar types of vehicles, as they attempt to join the lucrative after dinner speaking circuit and other commercial ventures.
