LBC presenter James O’Brien became emotional as he reported on an Israeli air strike that hit a hospital in Gaza. The attack targeted the al-Aqsa Hospital compound in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, during the early hours of Monday.
The strike ignited makeshift shelters that were housing displaced people. According to the Hamas-run health ministry, the attack killed at least four people and injured dozens, most of them women and children.
International Reactions
The UN’s humanitarian agency condemned the event, stating, “People burned to death” and calling for an end to these atrocities. A spokesperson from the White House National Security Council described the footage as “disturbing,” highlighting concerns over civilian casualties.
“We have expressed our concerns to the Israeli government. Israel has a responsibility to do more to prevent civilian deaths,” the spokesperson told CBS, a BBC partner. “What happened here is horrifying, even if Hamas was operating near the hospital, potentially using civilians as human shields.”
