Brexit has had a “significant adverse impact” on UK commerce, according to a recent Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) warning.
“Our trade forecast reflects our assumption that Brexit will result in the UK’s trade intensity being 15 per cent lower in the long run than if the UK had remained in the EU”, it found.
At today’s conference, though, the prime minister remained unmoved, telling attendees that Brexit is benefiting the UK and generally avoiding explicitly addressing requests that immigration be utilised to fill holes in the domestic labour force.
