30p Lee Anderson the outspoken Tory MP for Ashfield was handed the position of deputy party chairman in the PM’s mini-reshuffle last week.
It was an appointment that has raised eyebrows.
Already there have been a number of major incidents involving Lee and his thoughts.
Now he is in hot water AGAIN.
What else has he done?
Let’s go through a few things he has done first.
So, he said “Nobody has ever committed a crime after being executed.”
As this Twitter account wrote: “The fact that quite a few people hadn’t committed a crime before they were executed either is not his concern.”
Then he was snapped with some far right sympathisers.
Sangita Myska tweeted: “If Britain’s first South Asian Prime Minister Rishi Sunak fails to sack his new Deputy Tory Party Chairman Lee Anderson for associating with Far Right white supremacists sympathisers – he should be ashamed of himself.”
He even shared the Lib Dems attack poster on him and said he would deliver them himself!
What now?
So what has happened now I hear you ask?
Well he is now being sued for libel after levelling “defamatory allegations” against the owner of a food bank!
In a statement issued on Monday, the firm said: “On 1 February, 2023, Mr Anderson made defamatory allegations of bribery against a local man, Michael Hollis, who runs a food bank charity.
“Mr Anderson claimed in a Facebook post published to his 35,000 followers that money had changed hands in brown envelopes in relation to a planning application made by Mr Hollis.
“Mr Hollis is outraged by this allegation and, after Mr Anderson refused to remove his post, has taken the first steps towards a libel claim against him.”
