During the GB News People’s Forum, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak found himself under intense scrutiny as an audience member passionately voiced concerns over the alleged harms caused by the Covid vaccine, leaving the Prime Minister flustered.
Addressing Sunak directly, the audience member, identified as John Watt, expressed his frustration and pain as a self-described “Covid vaccine injured” individual. He demanded Sunak look him in the eye and acknowledge the trauma and regret he and others have endured, highlighting the lack of support for those affected.
Watt questioned why he had to establish a support group in Scotland for vaccine-injured individuals and criticized the inadequacy of the financial support scheme in place for affected individuals. Sunak expressed sympathy for Watt’s plight, but his attempts were interrupted by Watt’s continued assertions of being silenced.
Amidst the heated exchange, GB News host Stephen Dixon intervened to acknowledge the validity of Watt’s concerns while urging him to allow Sunak to respond. Sunak mentioned the existence of a vaccine compensation scheme and expressed willingness to review individual cases brought forward by Watt and others.
The Chancellor also addressed Watt’s claim of being silenced, stating he was saddened and shocked by the assertion, emphasizing the importance of hearing and addressing all voices in the discussion surrounding vaccine safety.
The GB News People’s Forum, which featured a ‘diverse audience’ representing UK voters, provided a platform for individuals to express their views and concerns. The event’s audience recruitment was conducted by Survation to ensure a representative range of voices was heard.
Despite the exchange’s intensity, it underscored the importance of open dialogue and accountability in addressing public concerns surrounding vaccine safety and support for affected individuals.
