Campaign group Stop Funding Hate has launched a crowdfunder to step up its fight against GB News. They accuse the channel of fuelling division and pushing Trump-style politics in the UK.
And they’re not holding back.
Since its launch, GB News has faced widespread criticism. It has been accused of spreading misinformation, whipping up fear about minorities, and breaking Ofcom’s impartiality rules. Now, Stop Funding Hate is doubling down on its campaign to hold the channel accountable.

Is GB News trying to bring Trumpism to the UK?
According to Stop Funding Hate, the answer is yes.
Their crowdfunding page warns:
“GB News commentators have made no secret of their desire to see Trumpism replicated in Britain.
And like Trump, the channel has been whipping up fear about migrants, Muslims, and trans people, putting communities at risk and dragging our politics to the extremes.”
They argue that this isn’t just about bad journalism—it’s about real-world consequences. Hate-filled media coverage, they say, leads to violence on the streets, just as it has in the United States.

£100 million lost—but the fight isn’t over
Stop Funding Hate has already forced major advertisers to rethink their support for GB News. They claim this has cost the channel over £100 million in just three years.
But they say more needs to be done.
With Trump on the rise again, far-right movements in the UK are feeling more confident than ever. Stop Funding Hate believes the next 12 months will be crucial in stopping GB News from spreading even more extreme narratives.
What will the crowdfunder do?
The money raised will help Stop Funding Hate:
✅ Pressure more advertisers to cut ties with GB News 🚫💰
✅ Monitor the channel’s most extreme content 📺👀
✅ Create more viral social media content 📣📲
✅ Push Ofcom and government leaders to enforce proper regulations ⚖️👨⚖️
Simply put, they want GB News held to the same standards as every other broadcaster.
