Pro-Palestine activists have targeted Trump Turnberry, Donald Trump’s Scottish golf course. Over the weekend, they spray-painted messages, dug up parts of the green, and splashed red paint over buildings.
One message, “Gaza is not for sale,” was sprawled across the lawn in giant letters.
Why Trump’s Course?
The protest follows Trump’s recent claim that Gaza could become the next ‘Riviera of the Middle East’. He suggested the territory could be “cleared out” to make way for luxury properties.
His comments sparked outrage, with critics comparing them to rhetoric linked to ethnic cleansing. Trump also implied Palestinians would be removed from their homeland to accommodate this vision.
Palestine Action Takes Credit
Activist group Palestine Action claimed responsibility. They warned Trump that his own property is not off-limits and promised more protests against “US-Israeli colonialism” in the future.
The clubhouse was drenched in red paint. Even prestigious holes used in The Open were damaged, with turf ripped up and rearranged to spell protest slogans in 10-foot lettering.
Trump Turnberry Calls It ‘Childish and Criminal’
The golf course’s management didn’t hold back. In a statement, Trump Turnberry slammed the protesters and vowed that business would continue as usual.
“This was a childish, criminal act, but the incredible team at Trump Turnberry will ensure it does not impact business. Turnberry is a national treasure and will continue to be the number one beacon of luxury and excellence in the world of golf.”
Yeah… you can really tell who owns this place.
