Veteran broadcaster Andrew Neil has torn into one of Donald Trump’s top officials, calling US special envoy Steve Witkoff “a Kremlin stooge” over his comments about Vladimir Putin.
Witkoff, a property billionaire turned government figure, recently told right-wing host Tucker Carlson that Putin was “not a bad guy.” That didn’t sit well with Neil.
🎙️ ‘Two idiots with a microphone’
Speaking on Times Radio, Neil didn’t hold back. He slammed the interview as “what happens when you have two idiots beside a microphone and neither of them know what they’re talking about.”
He wasn’t done. “One is just a busted flush mad American broadcaster,” he said. “But the other is the president’s special envoy—and he knows nothing about what he’s talking about.”
According to Neil, Witkoff repeatedly parroted Kremlin propaganda during the interview. “These are two Kremlin lovers,” he added.
🩸 ‘He should speak to Putin’s victims’
Witkoff’s claim that Putin is “not a bad guy” infuriated Neil, who urged him to talk to the families of people killed or imprisoned by the Russian leader.
💣 ‘This isn’t peace—it’s surrender’
Neil made it clear that he doesn’t trust these so-called peace talks. “You can call them peace talks,” he said, “but I think the proper word might end up being surrender.”
He also accused the White House of trying to push a peace deal in Ukraine without input from Europe or Kyiv. “It’s very dangerous when the leading representative of the president talks as if he’s a Kremlin stooge,” he warned.
