Newcastle United face a tricky away game on Saturday against Crystal Palace on the weekend.
It comes as Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag criticised his side for “dropped points” after Crystal Palace’s late equaliser in stoppage time of their 1-1 Premier League draw.
Palace manager Vieira said: “It feels like a win because we are happy not to lose the game. “It was important for us to perform well collectively and get something. It was really difficult against a good side.
“If we can keep that mentality and discipline, I think we will do well.
“It’s been really challenging but we always look a bit deeper than the result. Our performances have been positive at times and that is how we want to build.”
Ten Hag
There have been reports that have linked Newcastle United with Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech, along with about every other player on the planet.
This is what Manchester United Erik Ten Hag said about the Moroccan star in 2019.
“Hakim (Ziyech), the classic individualist, in the good sense of the word,” the Manchester United boss said in 2019. “You need him to make the difference and at times you need him in the team structure too. He can see the team cohesion and he sees the bigger picture.
“Whenever resistance is at its highest, Ziyech shines. We have many players who can create but in the final third, no one is as good as Hakim. He has been very decisive, and he has such specific qualities that cannot simply be found in other players.”
Top statistic
So as Newcastle face a tough trip to Crystal Palace on Saturday for the 5.30pm game, Newcastle fans will be hoping that this amazing statistic about defender Sven Botman is still relevant come Sunday morning.
