Last night Harry Kane breaks England scoring record as Gareth Southgate’s side survive Luke Shaw red card in Naples, in a 2-1 win.
Just 103 days ago it was heartache from the penalty spot for the England captain when he blazed over in the World Cup quarter-final defeat to France.
It was a great result for England and Man City star Phil Foden was full of praise for Bukayo Saka.
While both being on 13 goals for the season, Saka and Foden are also closely linked positionally for the England national team. At club level the duo prefer playing on the right that allows them to cut inside on their stronger left foot.
He said: “Definitely, I learn from him. From him missing that penalty, he’s turned it around with his performances on the pitch for club & country. He’s such a nice lad & everyone loves him. He’s a big part of what we do here.”
Brazil
There have been some amazing Brazilians who have played in England.
Fun Fact Newcastle United’s Mirandinha was the first Brazilain to play in Engtland’s top flight.
He was rewarded with a memorable terrace chant. “ We’ve got Mirandinha, he’s not from Argentina, he’s from Brazil, he’s ******* brill”
Anyway, that aside Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli is on course to smash the top Brazilian goalscorer record in a Premier League season!
It is a lower figure than you would think.
He only needs a couple of goals, surely it is possible?
