Nobody, even himself, would doubnt that Marcus Rashford had a poor season last season, but that has all changed now,
Marcus Rashford admitted that mental struggles last season were a key factor in his lack of form in the 2021/2022 season which saw United finish in 6th place.
He is back playing he best football of his life.
However, he nearly wasn’t a Man Utd player, The Athletic claimed that PSG had an offer worth more than £400,000-a-week on the table for Rashford at one stage, but were unable to tempt the England ace to France, even when a fresh start could have been a good option.
Now they say that Rashford has started contract talks with his hometown club, pace to pick up in next few months and salary expectation (as ever for employment contracts) are key.
Underperforming players
According to Steven Railston Manchester United Writer at the MEN there are four forwards not living up to the standards required.
He writes: “There are four senior attacking players, Antony, Wout Weghorst, Jadon Sancho and Anthony Martial, who have 20 goals between them and those individuals need to take more responsibility for the remainder of the season.
“Rashford is responsible for 34 per cent of the side’s goals and yet those four players are responsible for just 25 per cent.”
